As I mentioned yesterday, Friday is the day to start our novenas to St. Joseph since May 1 is the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker. Since Pete’s out of town, I’m apparently on Novena Duty, so I’ll be posting the prayers for each of the nine days.

If you’d prefer to follow on your own, the Novena I’ll be using is here. It’s a really beautiful one, since the reflections amount to a mini-catechism on the role of St. Joseph in the Church.

So, beginning on Friday, let us pray for St. Joseph’s intercession:

1. As the Patron of the Universal Church, that our leaders will treat the Legion and Regnum Christi in Mercy and Justice.

2. As the Patron of Families, that the families damaged through their experiences with LC/RC may find healing, faith and peace.

3. As the Patron of Workers, that all those who currently work for the Legion may find new ways to support their families.

4 And as the name-saint of the Pope, that Benedict XVI will receive the graces he needs to deal with all of this.

If you have any other suggestions for the novena, please put them in the comments and I’ll add them up here! (Yes, I’m already putting a lot on Joseph’s shoulders, but he can take it! )
