Agonizingly slow day

366 words. Ouch. I don't know whether I should cry or scream. But, on the plus side, I'm 40pp into Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy (Gallagher Girls) . It's as fun and crisp as the first in the series, and a good distraction from writer's tar. (slow going... as opposed to writer's block, which is a no-go. =) )

I've heard that's a good book! I'd love to hear your comments when you're done.

Lisa-- Ok, so I read at the dinner table yesterday (bad, bad example to my kids!) and finished it because I couldn't put it down. (It's also a really quick, fun read)

Read it! It WAS a good as the first, possibly better. I finished it DYING to read the next one.... which doesn't come out until 2009 --&%&@%# authors who put TIME and CARE into their work so that i have to WAIT! =)

Basically, the Gallagher Girls books aren't especially deep -- they're kind of like a fun, goofy srewball romantic comdy--- think "Bringing up Baby" with teen-aged spies!

I think they'd also be fine for the 11 or 12 year old in your life, because there's a bit of bond-like violence, but they're clean....

"Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy" was one of those books that I finished, and then wanted to tell everyone I know to read....

But you should definitely check them out when you're in the mood for a fun pick-me-up (And they're in every Walmart these days, so they're easy to find.....) =)
