Mommy Fashion Tip

Those glasses with the dark plastic frames are really great for hiding the kind of circles you get under your eyes when the kids haven't napped in three days but persist in going to bed at midnight and waking up at four am......

Just in case you were interested...

Hi Deirdre!

Oh, another sleep deprived Mommy. Sigh, me too. I'm failing miserably at sleep-training a ten month old. I'm trying so hard. But when he cries...

Nice blog, Deirdre!

Thanks!

We never actually tried the sleep-training thing... I couldn't bear to hear the kids crying either...

My three-year-old just recently got on a schedule...

The 18-month old had been a better sleeper, but she's cutting 2 sets of molars and her eye teeth right now, so sh's too pained to sleep...

Everyone has told me that three is the age when it gets better......

And ten months is a hard age... is he realy active? My active child always sleeps better if we roch her to sleep... she really needs that motion.....

Hi Deirdre!

My ten month old is active on a normal level, I think. Crawls all over the place. I have to problem getting him to sleep - I just nurse him. It's getting him to sleep for long periods that's hard.

I have an almost 4 year-old too. I think he was about 2 1/2 when he really began to sleep through consistently.

How many kids do you have?

I have a 3 1/2 year old, a 1 1/2 year old and a baby due in October.

My older daughter woke up and wanted to nurse at night till around her 3rd birthday... then I finally put my foot down and said "No nursing between bedtime and 8 am!!!!"

My 18 month old was almost sleeping through the night... then we hit this current tortuous string of teeth......

We give her ibuprofen and tylenol at bedtime.... she wakes at 3 am or so when the tylenol wears off and can't get back to sleep for a few hours......

But if it passed with her sister, who was ten million times harder to get to sleep, it will pass for her.....

(Our house is really small, though, so the kids are still in our room.... so it's alot easier to get them back to sleep before they get too loud....

We hope to get them into their own room (really a glorified closet) some time soon..... I don't know what that will do to their sleeping, though......
